What is Metallic Ink?

A unique and flexible special ink option on our HP Indigo 7900 press allows for a base of bright, opaque iridescent silver that can be printed as a standalone effect or overprinted with tints and shades for a wide variety of eye catching effects. The ink relies heavily on strong surrounding light to ‘shine’ and will look a little flat in low light or when there is no variation in surrounding light, as no gloss or satin substrate is used.

How can I use metallic ink?

There are many benefits to using metallic ink! You can use as a standalone spot colour to add shine to text, add subtle shading to create a range of metallic or pearlescent tones. Use it to add more shine to photographic metal objects or help colours stand out on our darker paper stocks.
